Whilst your pup is growing up it has to learn to avoid your feet, until they are more agile, shuffle your feet and walk slowly, this should help to avoid disaster of being trodden on and wear soft shoes in the house this can lessen the injury.
Chihuahuas are dare devils without much fear, they would think nothing of jumping from a table or arms, do not leave them unattended on any area that they cannot safely jump from on their own.
Always hold your Chihuahua correctly, with your hand underneath them and two finger between the fore legs, Chihuahua will push off you're body to escape if they see something interesting, this a why you should always have a firm hold at all times.
Never let strangers hold your dog this could lead to a tragedy if they are not familiar with holding this Wrigley breed. If they must hold them make sure they are sitting (on the floor if possible)
Always pick your Chihuahua up slowly as it will feel like going up in a lift with no sides. (Quite scary hey?)
